low reading, writing, and basic math skills.

We teach adults how to read. Our GED classes do more than help
you past the test - they give you needed life skills.

Fall Registration for returning students will begin on July 2nd.
Fall Registration for new students will begin on August 1st.

OUR PROGRAMS
At the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, adults have the opportunity to participate in one or more programs: 

Basic Literacy
English as a Second Language (ESL)
High School Equivalency Preparation (GED)
U.S. Citizenship Preparation
Basic Computer Skills
Career Certificate Courses

DID YOU KNOW?
In 2018:

-606 adult students took ESL classes
(English as a Second Language)
-52 adult students participated in the GED
(High School Equivalency course)
-49 adult students participated in one-on-one
reading classes (Adult Basic Education)
-85% of the adult students served are
Fort Bend County residents
-We served 75% Women and
25% Male adult students
-Since 2005, 165 adult students have self-reported completing their GED certificate
-Since 2007, 98 adult students have self-reported passing their US Citizenship exam
